Active Voice and Passive Voice

Introduction
1. The students learn English.
2. The Baker bakes breads
3. My father helps me.
In the above sentences, the words -
The cat,
The baker
My father
Theas words come under the classification - The subject.
The verbs
Plays
Bakes
Helps
These words refer to the actions done by the subject. We notice that the object receives the actions of the verb. These verbs are in the Active voice.
In the active voice the subject is prominent while. In the passive voice the object is made prominent. The above three sentences can be rewritten without changing the meaning.
1. English is learned by the students.
2. Breads are baked by the baker.
3. I am helped by my father.
In the above sentence the verb shows that something is done to the person or thing denoted by subject.

These words fall under the classifications of subject in the above sentences. We have also seen that the verb in the active voice if changed to the passive voice the subject of the verb in the active voice become the subject in the Passive voice.
It is important that when sentences in active voice are changed to passive voice. the proper forms of verbs are to be used depending upon the tense of the verbs
