The Boon of Akbar

In ancient Greek, there was a king named Akbar. He had a lot of gold. He also had a beautiful daughter. Akbar loved his gold very much, but he loved his daughter more than his riches.

One day, a saint passed out in Akbar's rose garden. Akbar asked the saint to give me the gift of "I wish everything I touch turns to gold'. The saint granted Akbar's wish.

Akbar went around, touching random things in the garden and his palace and turned them all into gold. He touched an apple, and it turned into a shiny gold apple.

In his happiness, Akbar went and hugged his daughter, she turned into a lifeless, golden statue! Akbar ran back to the garden and called a saint. He begged him to take away his power and save his daughter. Saint gave him a solution to change everything back. Akbar learned his lesson and lived the rest of his life contended with what he had.





மன்னன் பெற்ற வரம்

பண்டைய கிரேக்கில் அக்பர் என்ற ஒரு மன்னன் இருந்தார். அவர் நிறைய தங்கம் வைத்திருந்தார். அவருக்கு ஒரு அழகிய மகளும் இருந்தாள். அக்பர் தன்னிடம் உள்ள தங்கத்தை மிகவும் நேசித்தார், அவைகளைத் தாண்டி அவரது மகளை மிகவும் நேசித்தார்.

ஒரு நாள், ஞானி ஒருவர் அக்பரின் ரோஜா தோட்டத்தைக் கடந்துச் சென்றார். அக்பர் ஞானியிடம் "நான் தொடுவதெல்லாம் தங்கமாக மாறவேண்டும்" என்ற வரத்தை எனக்கு கொடுங்கள் என்று கேட்டார். ஞானியும் அவரது விருப்பத்தை நிறைவேற்றினார்.

அக்பர் தோட்டத்திலும் அவரது அரண்மனையிலும் இருந்த எல்லாவற்றையும் தொட்டார், அவை அனைத்துமே தங்கமாக மாறியது. அக்பர் ஒரு ஆப்பிளை தொட்டார், அது ஒரு பளபளப்பான தங்க ஆப்பிளாக மாறியது.

மகிழ்ச்சியில், அக்பர் தனது மகளை கட்டி அணைத்தார், அவள் ஒரு உயிரற்ற, தங்க சிலையாக மாறிவிட்டாள். அக்பர் தோட்டத்திற்கு திரும்பச் சென்று, ஞானியிடம் தன் சக்தியை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு தன் மகளை காப்பாற்றும்படி அவரை வேண்டினார். ஞானி எல்லாவற்றையும் பழையபடி மாற்றும்படி அக்பருக்கு ஒரு தீர்வை கூறினார். இதன் மூலம் அக்பர் ஒரு பாடத்தைக் கற்றுக் கொண்டார் மற்றும் அவரது வாழ்நாள் முழுவதுமே அவரிடம் இருந்த பொருட்களை மன நிறைவுடன் வைத்துக் கொண்டே வாழ்ந்தார்.
