A Square shaped Watermelon


Once Emperor Akbar became very angry at Birbal. He asked Birbal to leave the kingdom and go away. Accepting the command of the Emperor, Birbal left the kingdom and started working in a farmer's farm in an unknown village.

As months passed, Akbar was struggling to solve many issues in the empire without Birbal's advice. So Akbar sent his soldiers to find Birbal, but they failed to find him. Akbar finally found a trick. He sent a message to the head of every village to send square shaped watermelon to the empire.

This message also reached Birbal, who lived in one of the villages. The people of the village got together. All started talking about what to do now? Birbal who was sitting among the villagers said, "I will bring the watermelon'. Everyone trusted Birbal and agreed to give him a chance.

Birbal went back to the farm and made a square shaped box. He had planted watermelons on his farm. He selected a small watermelon and without cutting it from the plant, he put that in the box. Within a few days, the watermelon grew into the box in the square shape.

Birbal then cut the watermelon from the vine and he sent to Emperor Akbar with a message that "Please remove the watermelon without cutting it from the box'.

Akbar watched the watermelon in the box and realized that this can only be Birbal's Work. Akbar himself came to the village, took Birbal back with him.





சதுரங்க வடிவிலான தர்பூசணி

ஒருமுறை பேரரசர் அக்பர் பீர்பாலின் மீது மிகவும் கோபமடைந்து அவரை இராஜ்யத்தை விட்டு வெளியேறி போய்விடுமாறு கூறினார். பீர்பாலும் பேரரசரின் கட்டளையை ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, இராஜ்யத்தை விட்டு வெளியேறி வேறு ஒரு கிராமத்தில் ஒரு விவசாய பண்ணையில் வேலை செய்யத் தொடங்கினார்.

சில மாதங்கள் கடந்த பிறகு, அக்பர் பீர்பாலின் ஆலோசனை இல்லாமல் பேரரசில் பல சிக்கல்களை தீர்க்க போராடினார். எனவே, பீர்பாலைக் கண்டுபிடிக்கும்படி தனது படைவீரர்களை அக்பர் அனுப்பினார், ஆனால் அவர்களால் கண்டுபிடிக்க முடியவில்லை. இறுதியாக அக்பருக்கு ஒரு யோசனை வந்தது, ஒவ்வோரு கிராமத்தின் தலைவருக்கும் ஒரு செய்தியை அனுப்பினார் அக்பர். அந்த செய்தியில் "ஒவ்வொரு கிராமத்தாரும் சதுரங்க வடிவிலான தர்பூசணியை அனுப்ப வேண்டும்" என்று குறிப்பிட்டிருந்தது.

இந்த செய்தி பீர்பால் வாழ்ந்து வந்த கிராமத்திற்கும் வந்தது. கிராம மக்கள் அனைவரும் ஒன்று கூடினார்கள். இப்போது எப்படி சதுரங்க வடிவிலான தர்பூசணியை அனுப்புவது என்று எல்லோரும் யோசிக்க ஆரம்பித்தார்கள்? கூட்டத்தில் அமர்ந்திருந்த பீர்பால், "நான் சதுரங்க வடிவிலான தர்பூசணியைக் கொண்டு வருகிறேன்" என்றார். எல்லோரும் பீர்பால் மீது நம்பிக்கை வைத்து அவருக்கு ஒரு வாய்ப்பு கொடுக்க ஒப்புக்கொண்டனர்.

பீர்பால் பண்ணைக்குச் சென்று ஒரு சதுர வடிவ பெட்டியை உருவாக்கினார். அவர் தனது பண்ணையில் விதைத்திருந்த ஒரு சிறிய தர்பூசணி ஒன்றைத் தேர்ந்தெடுத்து, அதை செடியிலிருந்து வெட்டாமல் பெட்டிக்குள் வைத்தார். ஒரு சில நாட்களுக்குள், தர்பூசணி சதுர வடிவ பெட்டியில் வளர்ந்துவிட்டது.

பீர்பால் பின்னர் கொடியிலிருந்து தர்பூசணியை வெட்டி, "பெட்டியை உடைக்காமல் தர்பூசணியை வெளியே எடுத்துக் கொள்ளுங்கள்" என்று எழுதி அக்பருக்கு பீர்பால் அனுப்பி வைத்தார்.

அக்பர், பெட்டியில் இருந்த தர்பூசணியை பார்த்தவுடன், இது பீர்பாலின் வேலையாகத்தான் இருக்கும் என்பதை உணர்ந்து, அந்த கிராமத்திற்கு சென்று, பீர்பாலை அழைத்துக் கொண்டு பேரரசுக்கு திரும்பினார்.
