The Secret of Success

Edison organized a meeting to show electric light bulbs for his friends and fellow scientists, that meeting took place at the top floor of his lab. Edison asked his assistant to bring the electric bulb to the top floor. When the servant came with the bulb, it accidentally fell and broke down. Everyone was shocked. But Edison was not surprised.

It was easy for him to recreate the electric bulb as he met thousands of defeats and won them. He tried a little and made a bulb immediately. He gave it back to the assistant and told him to take it to the top floor. Are you giving the job back to the person who broke down the bulb?, asked some of them to Edison.

Edison said, I was able to make the bulb even after it was broken. But if I hurt him, how can I fix it? If you give him the task again, he will realize his responsibility and my trust, then he will work with extra care. That's why I did it. At that time, others saw Edison's patience and felt that it had got him all success.

தனது நண்பர்களுக்கும், சக விஞ்ஞானிகளுக்கும் மின்சார பல்பை ஒளிர வைத்துக் காட்டுவதற்காக எடிசன், ஒரு சந்திப்பு நிகழ்ச்சிக்கு ஏற்பாடு செய்தார், அவரது ஆய்வகத்தின் மேல் தளத்தில் இந்த சந்திப்பு நடந்தது. எடிசன், தனது உதவியாளரை அழைத்து மின்சார பல்பை மேல் தளத்திற்கு கொண்டு வரச்சொன்னார். பல்பை கொண்டு வரும்போது, அது கைதவறி விழுந்து உடைந்துவிட்டது. அனைவரும் அதிர்ச்சி அடைந்தனர். ஆனால் எடிசன் சற்றும் திகைக்கவில்லை.

ஆயிரம் தோல்விகளைச் சந்தித்து வெற்றி கண்ட அவருக்கு மின்சார பல்பை மீண்டும் உருவாக்குவது எளிதாக இருந்தது. சிறிது முயற்சி செய்து ஒரு பல்பை உடனடியாக உருவாக்கினார். அதனை மீண்டும் அந்த உதவியாளரிடமே கொடுத்து மேலே எடுத்துவரச் சொன்னார். பல்பை கீழே போட்டு உடைத்தவனிடமே மீண்டும் அந்த வேலையைக் கொடுக்கிறீர்களே? என்று சிலர் எடிசனிடம் கேட்டனர்.

அதற்கு எடிசன், பல்பு உடைந்ததால் மீண்டும் சரி செய்து கொள்ள முடிந்தது. ஆனால் அவரது மனதை காயப்படுத்திவிட்டால் அதை என்னால் சரிசெய்து கொடுத்துவிட முடியுமா? மீண்டும் அவனிடமே பணியை கொடுத்தால் அவன் தனது பொறுப்பையும், எனது நம்பிக்கையும் உணர்ந்து கூடுதல் கவனத்துடன் பணிபுரிவான். அதனால்தான் அப்படி செய்தேன் என்றார். அப்போது எடிசனின் பொறுமையை கண்ட மற்றவர்கள், அதுதான் அவருக்கு எல்லா வெற்றியையும் பெற்றுத்தந்தது என்று உணர்ந்தனர்.
